Abstract

Thinking of a clinical practice beyond individual psychotherapy and the walls of institutions where psychology professionals work has become not only a challenge but a necessity to meet the urgent demands of the population. This paper proposes a discussion on possible practices aligned with the advances in psychological science and the real needs of those seeking care, especially within public institutions. It presents a case report of primary care conducted in a school setting with high demand from children and adolescents. Practical experiences of clinical-institutional supervision will also be shared, highlighting challenges and models of psychological practice that go beyond traditional psychotherapy. To deepen the debate, examples of therapeutic accompaniment in different contexts will be included. The outcomes of this discussion aim to illuminate pathways for a clinical practice that can—and must—advance toward new possibilities for individual, group, and intersectional care that are increasingly urgent.
