By occupying a historically male position, women are still the target of words and actions that attempt to relocate them in the historically constructed imaginary. The article analyzes how sexist discourse works through a discussion of imaginary, imaginary formations, and subject position (Lacan, 1998; Pêcheux, 2014) based on statements that construct the character Rosa Palmeirão as a representation of a place within society, assuming as a premise the imaginary of the “macho woman,” supported by Simone de Beauvoir's critique of the psychoanalytic view of women who imitate men. The discursive analysis was conducted using a qualitative method. The reflection involved the analysis of practices embedded in patriarchal ideology aimed at women in politics. From this reflection, it was possible to understand that women socially discursivized by an imaginary of the “macho woman,” in the mold of a patriarchal ideology, can no longer occupy the position of female subject, leaving them only a non-place in the face of their (r)existence.
