Abstract

This article presents a case report on the application of the role-play methodology in a class for the Basic Internship I course in socio-educational contexts, in the Psychology program. The students simulated an observation moment in the internship field at a public school and experienced the roles performed, namely: teacher, students, and Psychology interns. This experience demonstrated the potential of active methodologies in integrating cognition, emotion, and social bonds. By experiencing the roles through movement and bodily sensations, the students were able to communicate their conceptions about the educational context, the role of Psychology in schools, and the practice of the profession. The teacher was able to identify some expectations and conceptions about the internship, the students' attitudes toward the challenges it presents, and had the opportunity to make reflections in connection with the theoretical framework of the course.
